osu!WR: A FIFA World Ranking-esque approach to OWC

Inspired by u/Bobcat1531's version of OWC World Rankings (you can read here), I decided to make my own version of an osu!World Ranking, loosely based on FIFA's World Ranking system, which is itself based on the Elo rating system used in chess as well as many other competitive sports in the world.

First things first, I'm not a data scientist or anything, so the numbers I used aren't particularly based in science, I just tried to find constants that would somewhat accurately measure match performance. I'm always open to new suggestions and revisions, if anyone more well versed in this sort of thing is willing to help :upside_down:

The World Ranking takes into consideration two factors:

A country's performances in the matches they play
A country's final placement within OWC

I started the points based on OWC 2018's results, giving a certain number of points based on each country's placement. After that, I took every individual match from OWC 2019 and OWC 2020, and calculated the points changes using an Elo rating formula. I also distributed further points based on each country's placement within OWC 2019 & 2020, to reward both match performance and tournament performance.

And without further ado, here's the current World Rankings using this methodology:
