    Hey everyone!

    Youtube spammed osu! videos and one day I clicked on one. I let them play in the background for hours, ran to my weeb boyfriend and asked him "what do you think of when I say the word/s rythm game?" he responded with "osu!" (pronounced correctly, since he is the talented one in the relationship and is fluent in japanese) and that was the moment I thought: "okay.. seems to be big" I researched more videos, reddit and other sources and downloaded the game a few hours ago.

    This is what happened since then:

    First of all... I`m addicted! It´s so much fun, I told a friend right away and she is downloading it right now.

    Controls: I ordered a tablet right away. I own one, but its huge and has a screen and I dont want to scratch it because I still need it for digital art. The mouse isnt as bad as I thougt after watching videos on both tools, but I havent compared them personally. Aiming wasnt as difficult as it looked on paper, maybe the years of pc gaming and digital art helped somehow. BUT: Nobody told me about the hand cramps! My clicking/typy fingers on the keyboard are DEAD! How do I position my hand? Which Keys can I use where it doesn`t hurt as much? I got so distracted by the cramps sometimes... why is it more difficult than normal wasd pc gaming? xD

    Skins: I just use pink choco since I wanted something that is minimalistic and a little pink. I use it on all maps because I found it distracting when the sounds changed too much at the beginning. Does anyone have more skins of this type? Minimalistic, not as many anime waifus (I love anime, but I dont like cluttered UIs) I just feel like its so much easier when I had a map with a clean skin, snappy sounds and nothing to distract me too much. Just me?

    Gameplay: Sometimes I asked myself if I rely too much on my hearing? Because I got lost in the beat and klicked the wrong beat sometimes. But then again... when I didnt know the song and couldnt know how it goes on, it was harder for me.. So maybe I have to rely more on my eyes? IDK! I`m new here and just guessing :D Anyone else who experienced something similar at the beginning?

    Final thoughts: At this point, I would be really thankful for any advice! Any beginner maps that helped you, some settings that could be interesting for me, skins that are minimalistic.

    Osu!paper gameplay

    Anybody else getting osu lag only when discord is open?

    I get consistent 2-10 ms lag spikes while playing osu with the discord app open on my pc. It's not my ram or anything and it didn't happen a couple months ago. The thing is, I can literally stream osu on a call in discord and nothing will happen AS long as I close the discord browser itself. Additionally closing discord just makes it go to system tray but it somehow fixes the problem, the thing is, I don't want to have to close discord everytime I want to play osu. I have overlay off and no settings that I think would mess with osu, but alas I'm still lagging whenever discord is open. It's really been annoying tf out of me. Has anybody else had this problem or know any possible ways to fix it. I'm desperate at this point.

    Questions about BPM

    Usually when I look at a map's BPM, it tells me how fast I have to singletap/stream, however I see some maps that I can't seem to understand how the BPM makes sense with the speed of the streams/jumps. I understand that a map can have jumps/streams double it's bpm and half it's bpm such as:

    1. Panda Eyes & Teminite - Highscore (Game Over)
    2. UNDEAD CORPORATION - Flowering Night Fever (Insane)

    The maps that I have trouble understanding the BPM are:

    1. Dragonforce - Cry Thunder (Unholy Darkness) The BPM is 130 yet when I see people play it the streams/jumps don't seem to be 130 bpm nor do they seem to be 260 bpm
    2. xi - Mirage Garden (Exitra) most of the streams/jumps are in line with it's listed bpm range, but there are some streams that I don't exactly quite get how the BPM is calculated given it's range.
    3. The Tender Box - Spectacular Spiderman (TV Size) (Extra) The BPM is 145, yet the jumps are way faster than that, but they don't seem to be 290bpm.

    I would also like to know how to find the bpm of particular sections of any map
